What is the Digital Twin Platform?

The Digital Twin Platform is an web application that allows it's users to navigate the interior of designated buildings that go through the process of digital representation.

The process consists of creating a digital twin of the real-life interior of the designated building and is offered as a custom solution for each client.

Our impact

For the Digital Twin Platform project we have fully refactored an existing Backend, written with Express (the Node.js web application framework), and moved it to NestJS (also a Node.js web application framework, but one that uses an Object-Oriented Approach and a more structured architecture).

Additionally, our team has contributed to the Frontend Angular website which allows the users to navigate the digital twins.

Project details

The project is part of our white-label portfolio of projects, the contact between us and the client being represented by one of our Romania partners.

The Digital Twin Platform represented a challenge to us as it was our first NestJS project, and we have had to quickly adapt to the requirements.

Thanks to the experienced members of our team, the transition was quick and the results determined the engagement to go to full time until the development for the platform has wrapped up.

Last but not least, we have maintained the AWS Architecture associated with the project using HashiCorp's Terraform.

Outcome

The Digital Twin Platform is currently live and being used by Universities throughout Europe to provide tours for their halls & laboratories.

Additionally, it is used to capture expositions and to allow users to later navigate through all booths and feel as if they are again participating in the event
